Life is what happens when we are making other plans ... or is it?

My name is Cara, and I'm on a mission to live in the present -- to really engage with every imperfect, impermanent, incomplete second of it. Do you want to join me? I want to find the wabi sabi of life -- the beauty of imperfect things -- because it's only with that lens of charis -- grace -- can we see life and people how God sees them. We can start seeing past the mountains of laundry, sticky kitchen floors, mechanic bills, intractable coworkers and the general ennui of life and see the fragile, broken beauty of it all. Aaaand, it sounds a lot more fun than just coasting through life, doesn't it?

I am a mother of five kids, a homeschool teacher, wife, writer, designer and cookie baker. So yes, things get messy on a pretty regular basis. I like French movies, books of any kind, strong coffee, and being with people who make me laugh (laughing with them, not at them... at least not very often).
